A beautiful antique Victorian silver locket made in 1881. This piece is of nice quality and still in lovely condition, with the locket clicking shut securely. The front features a floral pattern, hand carved with applied silver gilded flowers/leaves.
Silver gilt is a process whereby a thin layer of gold is applied to the surface of the silver. This locket is a lovely example of this!
The locket is crafted in sterling silver, hallmarked for Birmingham, 1881 with makers mark MJG.
