A finely detailed Georgian 14ct gold pendant featuring decorative three colour gold work in yellow, rose, and green gold tones. The sides are adorned with applied floral decoration and acorn motifs to either side, giving the piece exceptional visual richness and craftsmanship typical of the period.
At the base is a faceted amethyst intaglio, engraved with the French phrase “LA CLEF EST A VOUS” (“The key is yours”), beneath which sits a heart-shaped padlock motif. The intaglio remains well defined and produces a clear impression when pressed.
A highly characterful and symbolic early 19th century piece with strong romantic and sentimental appeal.

The amethyst intaglio has a very minor chip to the outer edge, visible on close inspection only. The chip does not affect the engraved message or the quality of the seal impression.
