A substantial antique dog clip clasp crafted in solid 18ct gold, dating to c.1920. Originally designed for use with an Albert or watch chain, these highly functional fittings are now increasingly sought after as standalone antique jewellery, ideal for attaching a favourite pendant, fob or charm to a chain.
The clasp has a classic elongated form with a rounded body and substantial tapered terminal, retaining its original spring mechanism. Its simplicity makes it particularly versatile, whether incorporated into an antique chain, used as a pendant connector or worn prominently as part of a modern charm arrangement. Crafted in 18ct gold, it is a considerably finer example than the more commonly encountered 9ct versions.
