A delightful antique Victorian 9ct gold front and back locket crafted in c.1890. This lovely little locket has beautiful forget me not flowers engraved to the front, which is accompanied by Ivy on the back. Both Meaningful flowers used during the Victorian era.
The locket is very well made and of excellent quality. The inside has both panels to store photos or other keepsakes of a loved one.
The locket snaps closed securely.

The locket is marked '9ct gold Back & Front', meaning the panels are made of 9ct (9ct front and back) however other parts of the locket will be a base metal. This was common during the Victorian and Edwardian periods to help strengthen and keep its structural integrity by incorporating a stronger base metal in the frame.
