A striking antique Victorian 9ct gold locket dating to c.1880. The front is set with a rich bloodstone agate, cut in a classic shield shape and centred with a raised 9ct gold shield cartouche, creating a bold and beautifully balanced design. The reverse is finely chased with a wreath of flowers, adding delicate detail and contrast.
The locket opens to reveal space for two keepsakes or photographs, making it both sentimental and practical. Bloodstone was a popular Victorian gemstone, often associated with strength and protection, adding an extra layer of meaning to this handsome piece.
