A fine Victorian 9ct rose gold compass pendant dating to 1891, set with a working compass on one side and a polished carnelian agate on the reverse. The clever spinner design allows the pendant to be rotated, revealing either the compass or the rich carnelian. A versatile and beautifully crafted piece, typical of late 19th-century jewellery.
The needle spins freely, although does not appear to be functioning.
