A finely hand-engraved Victorian 9ct gold back and front locket, beautifully decorated with an intricate floral composition across both covers. Every visible surface has been carefully engraved by hand, transforming this sentimental keepsake into a miniature work of art that showcases the exceptional craftsmanship of the late nineteenth century.
The oval locket is richly adorned with scrolling foliate engraving surrounding flowering stems, while the reverse features a vacant cartouche ready for a personal monogram or inscription. The crisp engraving catches the light beautifully, adding depth and texture to the gold. Opening to reveal its original twin photograph compartments with both glass panels still present, the locket was designed to preserve treasured portraits or mementoes close to the wearer. Constructed in the traditional back and front manner, it combines solid 9ct gold outer panels with a durable inner frame.
