Unmarked, tests as 9ct Gold back and Front. This means the panels are made of 9ct (9ct front and back) however other internal parts of the locket will be a base metal. This was common during the Victorian and Edwardian periods to help strengthen and keep its structural integrity by incorporating a stronger base metal in the frame.
