A superb late Victorian 9ct gold double Albert chain dating to c.1900, combining richly textured lovers knot links with elongated bar links chased with tiny flowers. The alternating design gives the chain a particularly decorative appearance, with the twisted knot links catching the light between the finely engraved floral sections.
The chased bars are one of the strongest details, each covered with delicate floral work, while the lovers knot links add weight, texture and movement throughout the chain. Complete with two original dog clips and a T-bar, it has all the character of a classic Victorian watch chain while being decorative enough to wear today as a necklace or layered chain.
A substantial example at 15.2 grams, with a warm antique gold tone and crisp surviving decoration. Presented in very good antique condition with light age-related wear consistent with its age.
