A superb antique 9ct yellow gold locket dating to the Edwardian era, richly decorated with fabulous floral chasing throughout. The front is adorned with delicate forget-me-nots, while the reverse features beautifully detailed ivy leaves, both motifs steeped in Victorian symbolism of remembrance and fidelity.
A blank cartouche to the front offers the opportunity for personal engraving if desired.
What makes this piece particularly special is its ingenious construction — it opens from both the front and the back, unfolding into a triple locket. This allows space for three keepsakes, and potentially a fourth behind the central insert. The locket retains its acrylic panels, making it ready for photographs or mementos.
An exceptional and practical Edwardian piece, combining craftsmanship, symbolism, and unusual design. Presented in lovely antique condition with strong surface detail throughout.
