A particularly elegant antique long guard chain dating to around 1900, crafted in 9ct gold and measuring an impressive 56 inches in length. The chain is formed from fine trombone links, punctuated by distinctive faceted tab links that catch the light and add a subtle decorative rhythm along its length.
The chain retains its original dog clip, stamped '9CT', together with a 9ct plaque attached to the end of the links. At 56 inches long, it can be worn at full length, doubled around the neck or used to suspend a favourite locket, seal or pendant, making it a versatile example of a classic antique guard chain.
Presented in very good antique condition with light age-related wear consistent with its age. The trombone links remain well articulated, the faceted tabs are nicely defined and the dog clip functions correctly.
