A 9ct gold Victorian locket with three hand-chased shamrocks to the front and chased decoration to the reverse. The chasing is deeply worked and crisp throughout — a lovely quality example of late Victorian goldsmithing. The shamrock was a popular motif of the period, carrying associations with luck, faith and Irish sentiment. The locket retains its original glass insert, a detail that so few examples still carry.
Opens and closes correctly. Chasing is well-defined front and back. Original glass present and intact.
