An antique 9ct rose gold dog clip clasp dating to around 1900, with a substantial elongated form and warm rose gold colour. A useful original antique finding, ideal for attaching a pendant, fob, charm or extending an antique chain.
The clasp has a rounded terminal loop to one end and a large teardrop-shaped opening to the other, operated by the sprung mechanism. Its generous proportions make it particularly well suited to Albert chains, guard chains and heavier antique jewellery.
Very good antique condition with light age-related wear. The spring mechanism is working correctly and the clasp opens and closes securely.
Era:
Late Victorian / Edwardian, c.1900
Hallmarks:
Stamped '9 375' for 9ct gold. Makers mark 'P&M'.
Dimensions:
Height 25mm
Width 9mm
Eyelet 3mm
Weight:
2.49 grams
