A striking Edwardian demi-parure dating to the Edwardian era, comprising a matching 15ct gold amethyst and pearl brooch with drop earrings, preserved together in their original fitted box. Each piece is centred by a large hexagonal-cut amethyst, the pale violet stones showing beautifully against the warm gold and small natural pearl accents.
The brooch is particularly unusual, with its central amethyst framed by two open, deeply fluted shell-like sections that give the piece an almost opening-clam appearance. Pearl-set rectangular panels sit to either side, while further pearls accent the lower shell, creating a richly detailed setting without overwhelming the central stone. The earrings echo the same hexagonal amethyst shape, suspended beneath small clusters of pearls from simple wire hooks.
A particularly appealing Edwardian set, not only for the size and colour of the amethysts but for having survived together with its matching earrings and original box. Both pieces are presented in lovely antique condition, with the goldwork remaining crisp and the fitted case also in excellent condition.
