A charming antique Edwardian heart pendant dating to around 1905, crafted in 9ct gold and set with a faceted purple amethyst. The gemstone is cut into a softly rounded heart shape and held within a finely claw-set gold mount, allowing plenty of light to pass through the stone.
Above the amethyst is an elegant openwork gold surmount formed from scrolling curves, giving the pendant a particularly delicate Edwardian appearance. The open-backed setting reveals the reverse of the stone and allows its soft lilac and violet tones to remain bright when worn.
Presented in very good antique condition. The amethyst remains securely set and the pendant retains its original period character.
