A highly detailed Edwardian pendant dating to c.1900, crafted in 9ct gold and designed as a complete spider-and-fly scene within an open web. At the centre sits a spider set with a rich purple amethyst body, while a second smaller amethyst forms the body of a tiny fly caught towards the outer edge of the web.
The web itself is built from fine gold wirework, creating a delicate open structure around the two insects. A narrow white enamel border runs around the outer circle, giving the pendant a crisp contrast and helping the intricate web stand out against the warm gold.
Presented in very good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with its age.
