A stunning antique Edwardian 9ct yellow gold locket dating back to c.1901.
The locket is expertly crafted with a pretty striped pattern to the front and back along with a decorative scroll mount. There is a blank cartouche to the centre for any personalization should you wish.
The inserts and panels are present for photos or other keepsakes to be stored. The locket shuts nicely with a snap.

The back is marked '9ct front & back'. This means the front and back panels are solid 9ct. During the Victorian and Edwardian periods this was designed to help strengthen the locket by incorporating a stronger base metal in the frame.
