An antique Edwardian brooch dating to around 1905, crafted in 9ct gold and modelled as a flying swallow set with small seed pearls. The bird is finely worked with engraved feather detail through the wings and tail, while the pearls add a soft contrast against the warm gold.
The swallow sits across a slender safety-pin style brooch fitting, giving the piece a light and wearable construction while keeping the bird as the clear focal point. Swallow motifs were especially popular in late Victorian and Edwardian jewellery, often associated with affection, safe return and constancy.
Presented in very good antique condition with light age-related wear consistent with its age. The pearls remain securely set and the pin mechanism functions correctly.
