A finely detailed antique Georgian keepsake locket dating to around 1820, crafted in 12ct gold and retaining its original glazed compartment. The circular case is richly worked with chased foliate decoration around the outer border, while the front features a finely textured engine-turned centre with a small raised gold boss.
The locket opens to reveal a 13.5mm glass panel, originally intended to hold a miniature photograph, portrait, lock of hair or other personal keepsake. The combination of decorative goldwork and a concealed glazed compartment gives the piece a particularly characteristic Georgian feel.
Presented in very good antique condition with age-related wear and patina consistent with its age. The hinge remains functional and the original glass is still present.
