An antique 15ct gold intaglio seal dating to the Georgian era, c.1830, set with a finely carved chalcedony intaglio depicting a demi lion rampant standing upright in a bold, striking pose, holding a covered cup. The carving captures strength and movement, with clear definition to the mane and stance.
The mount is crafted in solid 15ct gold, richly chased with floral decoration across the body, adding texture and contrast to the polished intaglio base. The combination of heraldic subject and ornate goldwork gives the piece strong mid-19th-century character.
Presented in fabulous antique condition, with crisp detail remaining to both the carving and the chased mount. A substantial and collectible example of Georgian craftsmanship.
