A richly detailed late Georgian jewel dating to c.1830, crafted in 15ct gold and set with a central ruby, four emeralds and seed pearls among dense floral goldwork. The front is built up with individually worked leaves and flowers, including two rose gold roses against the warmer yellow gold, creating a layered, highly decorative surface.
The rectangular panel was likely originally made as the clasp or centrepiece of a larger bracelet and later converted for wear as a brooch. Its substantial 13.89 gram weight, broad sheet-gold back and richly worked front are all consistent with a piece designed to act as the focal point of a larger jewel.
The floral decoration remains remarkably crisp, with the coloured stones and pearls set directly into the surrounding leaves and blossoms. Presented in good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with its age, and with later brooch fittings visible to the reverse.
