A standout Victorian sterling silver locket dating to c.1880, featuring a finely chased robin perched upon a branch across the front. The scene is brought to life with three-colour gold highlights, accenting the leaves, branch, and the robin itself, creating depth and contrast against the silver ground.
The engraving is confident and detailed, with strong line work that gives the bird real presence. The addition of coloured gold elevates the piece beyond standard silver lockets of the period, making it a particularly decorative and scarce example.
Substantial in scale and weight at 27 grams, the locket measures 66mm in height including the bail and 40mm in width, giving it impressive presence when worn. It opens and closes securely with a firm snap and provides space for two keepsakes, retaining one internal glass panel.
A bold late Victorian locket with exceptional surface detail and scale — easily one of the stronger examples from the period.
