A fine antique sterling silver double Albert watch chain in a classic trombone link design, each link hallmarked with the lion passant — a hallmark of quality found on the finest British silverwork of the period. Beautifully made with excellent weight and craftsmanship throughout.
This example features a particularly practical configuration: one end is fitted with a dog clip, the other with a jump ring, while the T-bar is mounted on a larger jump ring allowing it to slide freely along the full length of the chain — meaning it can be positioned anywhere to suit the wearer's preference. A thoughtful and versatile piece of functional Victorian jewellery.
Lovely antique condition. All links are sound throughout. Dog clip functions correctly. T-bar slides freely as intended. Lion passant hallmarks are clear to each link.
A superb and wearable piece of late Victorian silverwork — beautifully made and full of the practical ingenuity typical of the period.
