A finely detailed Victorian watch key dating to c.1860, crafted in 15ct gold fill with richly chased decoration across both circular sections. Watch keys were functional accessories for key-wound pocket watches, but the more elaborate examples were also designed as decorative objects to be suspended from an Albert or guard chain.
This example is particularly ornate, with scrolling foliate and floral chasing covering the circular body and upper suspension ring. The key stem projects from the base and retains its hollow winding socket, while the articulated upper fitting allows the suspension ring to move freely 365 degrees.
Presented in very good antique condition with light age-related wear consistent with its age.
