A striking Victorian cluster ring dating to c.1890, crafted in 9ct gold and centred by a large rich purple amethyst surrounded by a complete halo of seed pearls. The amethyst has a deep violet colour with brighter flashes through the facets, creating a strong contrast against the soft lustre of the pearls.
The raised cluster gives the ring excellent presence on the hand, with the amethyst sitting proudly above the finger and framed by a scalloped pearl border. The warm gold setting complements the purple stone beautifully, while the seed pearls soften the overall look and give the ring its distinctly Victorian character.
The central amethyst measures 9mm x 9mm and is estimated at 3.0ct. Presented in very good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with its age.
