A beautifully detailed antique Victorian locket dating to around 1890, crafted in 9ct gold back and front and decorated with striking blue and white enamel to the face. The front combines a bold Greek key border with a central floral motif, all set against finely engraved gold decoration.
The reverse is equally impressive, with dense hand-engraved floral and foliate decoration surrounding a plain central cartouche. Inside, the locket retains its original glass panels, an especially desirable survival and ideal for holding photographs or another small keepsake.
Presented in very good antique condition with light age-related wear consistent with its age. The enamel remains bright, the engraving is crisp and the hinge functions correctly.
