A wonderfully unusual antique Victorian whistle pendant dating to around 1880, crafted in 9ct gold and finished with a polished bloodstone base. The tapered whistle has a compact sculptural form, with simple raised bands around the body and a functional mouthpiece to the top.
The bloodstone forms the entire circular base, showing the characteristic deep green colour scattered with natural red inclusions. The whistle remains fully working, making this an especially appealing survival from the Victorian period and a piece that combines jewellery with a genuine practical function.
Presented in very good antique condition with age-related wear and patina consistent with its age. The whistle functions correctly, the bloodstone remains securely set and the original jump ring is retained for wearing as a pendant or charm.
