A distinctive Victorian connector pendant dating to c.1880, centred on a tightly wrapped textured body encircled by a sculptural 9ct gold snake. The serpent winds repeatedly around the fitting before its head emerges across the front, giving the piece a compact appearance with considerable detail packed into it.
The snake itself, together with the upper and lower gold fittings, tests as 9ct gold, while the body beneath is base metal.
A large 11mm suspension loop sits above, with a smaller faceted 4mm connector below, allowing the piece to be incorporated into a chain or worn as an unusual pendant in its own right.
Presented in good antique condition with age-related wear and patina consistent with its age. The textured surface and sculptural snake detail remain well defined.
