A clever Victorian novelty fob dating to c.1890, combining a working whistle with a pocket watch key at the opposite end. Crafted in 9ct gold, the piece has a slim tubular form with engraved decoration across the body and a small suspension ring for attaching to an Albert chain or wearing as a pendant.
The whistle remains functional, while the opposite end is fitted with a 1mm square watch key for winding a compatible pocket watch. This dual-purpose construction makes it a particularly appealing little piece of Victorian ingenuity, combining a practical everyday object with decorative goldwork.
Presented in good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with its age. There are two small pin dings to the body, but the whistle remains working and the watch key fitting is intact.
