A substantial Victorian tassel pendant dating to around 1880, crafted in 9ct rolled gold and formed from multiple strands of closely spaced gold beads suspended beneath an engraved domed cap. The long tassel construction gives the piece strong movement, with the bead strands shifting and catching the light independently as it is worn.
The upper cap is finished with engraved foliate and geometric detail, providing a decorative contrast to the dense curtain of gold beads below. At 83mm long and weighing 13.94 grams, this is a particularly impressive surviving tassel, with enough scale and movement to make a strong feature on an antique chain or long guard.
Presented in very good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with its age. The bead strands remain well articulated and the suspension loop is intact.
