A substantial Victorian bolt ring clasp dating to around 1890, crafted in 9ct rolled gold and with its original top suspension eyelet. The rounded circular body has a smooth, solid profile, with the small side mechanism allowing the ring to open for attaching a chain, pendant, fob or charm.
At 18mm in diameter, this is a larger and more useful antique fastening than the tiny spring rings often found on period chains. The separate top eyelet makes it especially versatile, allowing it to be worn as a pendant fitting or used as a central attachment point on an antique chain.
Presented in very good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with its age. The clasp mechanism remains functional and the suspension fitting is intact.
Era:
Victorian, c.1890
Hallmarks:
Unmarked, tests as 9ct rolled gold.
Dimensions:
Height: 25mm
Ring diameter: 18mm
Top eyelet: 3mm
Weight:
2.5 grams
