A substantial Victorian chain dating to around 1890, crafted in 9ct rolled gold and formed from a repeating pattern of elongated open links. Each link has a distinctive angular, almost twisted profile, giving the chain a far more decorative look than a standard trombone or belcher design.
At 25 inches long, the chain has enough length to sit lower on the chest and works particularly well with a locket, seal or pendant. The open construction keeps the piece visually light despite its substantial 19.59 gram weight, while the repeating link shape creates strong movement and catches the light from different angles.
The original period clasp remains in place and functions correctly. Presented in very good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with its age, with the links retaining good definition throughout.
