A substantial Victorian long guard chain dating to c.1890, crafted in warm 9ct rose gold and combining elongated trombone links with faceted tab links throughout. The alternating design gives the chain plenty of texture and movement, with the faceted sections catching the light between the longer open links.
At 142cm in length, the chain has excellent versatility and can be worn long in the traditional guard style or doubled around the neck for a shorter layered look. The original dog clip remains in place, making it ideal for suspending an antique locket, seal or pendant while still looking strong enough to wear on its own.
The chain has a pleasing 16 gram weight and retains a rich antique rose-gold tone throughout. Presented in good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with its age.
