An original Victorian rolled gold split ring clasp dating to c.1860, decorated with intricate hand engraving around its entire circumference. Originally used as a connector for lockets, pendants, fobs and watch chains, these engraved split rings have become increasingly sought after both as functional antique findings and as collectible pieces in their own right.
The ring is richly engraved with alternating scrollwork and textured panels, giving it a level of decoration rarely found on modern examples. Its warm rolled gold finish and crisp engraving reflect the quality of Victorian era.
Presented in good antique condition, with crisp engraving and only light age-related wear consistent with careful use. A practical and increasingly scarce original Victorian finding that complements antique jewellery beautifully.
