A Victorian hinged bangle dated to 1883, crafted in sterling silver and decorated with applied 9ct rose and green gold highlights. The front is centred with an engraved floral spray, with the different gold tones picked out across the flowers and leaves to create a subtle three-colour effect against the silver.
The floral centre is framed by shaped borders and finely engraved cross hatched panels, giving the bangle a strong decorative rhythm across the front. The contrast between polished silver, engraved detail and the warmer rose and green gold highlights gives this piece far more depth than a conventional silver bangle of the period.
Presented in very good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with its age. The engraved decoration remains well defined and the hinged fastening functions correctly.
