A substantial antique Victorian collar necklace dating to around 1880, crafted in sterling silver with an intricate multi-row articulated construction. The closely connected links form a broad, flexible band, finished along both edges with a continuous border of polished silver ball drops.
At 22mm wide, the necklace has considerable presence while remaining remarkably fluid, allowing the rows of links to move naturally around the neckline. The repeating bead detail gives the piece a distinctive rhythm from every angle, while the concealed box clasp keeps the overall design clean and uninterrupted.
Weighing an impressive 70.7 grams, this is a particularly substantial example of late Victorian silver jewellery. Presented in very good antique condition with light age-related wear and patina consistent with its age. The articulated construction remains flexible and the clasp functions securely.
