A striking antique Victorian snake armlet dating to around 1890, crafted in sterling silver and formed as a substantial coiled serpent. The bracelet wraps elegantly around the wrist and forearm, terminating in a finely modelled snake head with engraved scales, defined eyes and detailed facial features.

The broad 7.5mm body gives the piece a strong sculptural presence while remaining smooth and wearable against the skin. Snake jewellery was especially fashionable during the Victorian period, with the serpent widely associated with eternity, devotion and enduring love.

Weighing a substantial 32.3 grams, this is an impressive example with excellent visual impact when worn. The open coiled construction allows a degree of flexibility and should accommodate a range of wrist sizes. The model shown has a 6.25 inch wrist.
