An Art Deco pendant dating to the 1930s, crafted in 800 silver and modelled as a miniature Egyptian sarcophagus. The front is decorated with a raised pharaonic figure surrounded by geometric enamel detail in turquoise, green, blue and white, while the reverse carries a further stylised enamel design.
The sarcophagus is hinged and opens to reveal a vivid blue enamelled interior, giving the piece an unusual novelty element alongside its Egyptian Revival styling. The tapered coffin form, enamel palette and stylised decoration fit well with the continued fascination with ancient Egyptian imagery during the Art Deco period.
Presented in very good vintage condition with age-related wear consistent with its age. The hinge remains functional with a secure clasp and the enamel retains strong colour throughout.
