A distinctive Art Deco pendant dating to c.1930, crafted in sterling silver and set with genuine butterfly wing. The wing displays striking iridescent shades of blue, green and purple, changing noticeably as the pendant moves and catches the light.
The butterfly wing is preserved beneath a clear panel within a softly shaped silver mount finished with a decorative beaded border. The reverse retains a further section of butterfly wing, making the pendant double-sided. Butterfly wing jewellery became particularly fashionable during the Art Deco period, prized for the remarkable natural iridescence of the wings.
Presented in very good vintage condition, with light age-related wear to the silver and butterfly wing consistent with its age.
