A very unique Victorian 18ct gold guilded brooch crafted in the shape of a snake. The head of the snake is nicely detailed and features a beautiful bluey-green Turquoise cabochon. The guilding to the brooch is magnificent, being a bright 18ct gold with minimal signs of wear. With the brooch being oversized, it is thought that this would have been used on clothing such as a scarf, shawl, cape or capelet. This piece is crafted in c.1880 and is in excellent condition throughout. Dimensions: 10cm. Weight: 25.4 grams.
