A substantial Victorian necklace dating to c.1890, crafted in sterling silver and formed from repeating pierced star links. Each small circular disc is cut with a central star and joined into a broad articulated design, creating a highly decorative surface that runs continuously around the necklace.
The star links are paired with tightly worked silver connectors and small rounded drops along the edges, giving the necklace plenty of texture and movement. At 12mm wide, it has strong presence at the neckline while the articulated construction allows it to sit comfortably and follow the shape of the neck.
Finished with a large 14.5mm bolt ring clasp, the necklace is presented in very good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with its age. The links remain sound and the clasp functions correctly.
