A sterling silver bangle with applied two-colour gold decoration — green gold worked into ivy leaves and rose gold into forget-me-nots, with a rose gold border running the length of the piece. The combination of three metals and two distinct botanical motifs makes this an unusually accomplished piece of Victorian jewellery.
Both motifs carry meaning. Ivy was a symbol of fidelity and eternal love. Forget-me-nots spoke of remembrance and true affection. The choice to work both together in contrasting gold colours on a silver ground was a deliberate and considered piece of design — this is not decoration for its own sake.
Stunning condition for age. Clasp secure and functioning correctly.
