A richly detailed Victorian pendant dating to c.1880, crafted in 9ct gold and centred by a deep wine-red garnet cabochon. The stone sits prominently within a raised oval setting, surrounded by finely chased floral and foliate decoration that continues across the domed gold body.
The garnet has a smooth, rounded cabochon surface with a rich red colour that deepens towards the centre and catches brighter crimson flashes in the light. The engraved goldwork adds plenty of texture around the stone, while the shaped upper suspension gives the pendant an elegant, sculptural profile.
To the reverse is a small keepsake compartment, now fitted with a replacement acrylic panel, allowing a photograph or other small memento to be displayed. Presented in good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with its age.
