A substantial vintage snake bangle dated precisely to 1979, crafted in 9ct gold with a flexible coiled body and finely modelled snake head. Two small ruby eyes add a vivid flash of colour, while engraved scale and facial detail give the head a strong sculptural finish.
The expandable construction allows the bangle to flex around the wrist and suit a range of wrist sizes, gripping more firmly as the wrist becomes larger. The snake head is stamped 'STEEL SPRING', identifying the internal spring mechanism that helps the coiled body retain its tension and shape while allowing the bracelet to expand comfortably for wear.
At 28 grams, the bangle has a substantial feel on the wrist, with the 6mm-wide body giving it plenty of presence. Presented in very good vintage condition with light age-related wear consistent with use, and the expandable mechanism remains strong and functional.
