A classic vintage heart padlock clasp crafted in solid 9ct yellow gold and hallmarked in London for 1971. Made in the traditional heart-shaped form, it was designed as a fastening for a bracelet or chain and has the familiar keyhole detail to the front.
The clasp opens via the hinged gold shackle, allowing it to be attached securely while the small loop between the shoulders provides the connection point for the opposite end of a bracelet or chain. Four engraved screw-head details give the face the appearance of a miniature working padlock, a design that has long been associated with traditional British jewellery.
Presented in very good vintage condition with light age-related wear. The clasp opens and closes securely and remains fully functional.
