A richly coloured vintage garnet brooch dating to around 1960, crafted in sterling silver gilt and arranged as a compact oval floral cluster. A large oval garnet forms the centre, surrounded by a closely set border of smaller oval and round faceted garnets that create a full, balanced design across the face.
The garnets are individually claw set in gilt silver, with open backs allowing light to pass through the stones and bring out their deep red and wine-toned colour. The combination of the warm gilt finish and the dark garnets gives the brooch a strong mid-century look, while the varied stone sizes keep the cluster from feeling overly uniform.
Presented in very good vintage condition with light age-related wear consistent with its age. The garnets remain securely set and the pin fitting to the reverse functions correctly.
