A striking vintage butterfly brooch crafted in sterling silver, with its wings decorated in finely detailed cream and orange enamel. The naturalistic colouring and carefully rendered wing markings give the butterfly a remarkably lifelike appearance, while the silver outlines define the form without overpowering the enamel work.
The wings are finished in a soft pearlescent cream, graduating into vivid orange and red tones around the scalloped edges. Fine linear detailing follows the structure of the wings, while the body and curled antennae are individually picked out to complete the design. The reverse is stamped STERLING SILVER and fitted with its original pin fastening.
Presented in very good vintage condition, with the enamel retaining strong colour and detail. There is light age-related wear to the reverse of the silver, consistent with previous use.
